About Helen McCaul
As a trained and professional Independent Celebrant it will be a privilege to work with you to make your special day an occasion to remember. Every wedding is unique and I can offer a range of ideas to make your dreams come true.
I have a genuine interest in working with people, and gain satisfaction in seeing others fulfill their wishes and achieve goals. I work with several organisations as a volunteer providing a service to others in need.
The latter part of my working career included eighteen years of recruitment and HR related experience, my main focus being service delivery and establishing relationships across a wide range of industry backgrounds and levels of experience. I presented training courses and ran interview-training workshops. Prior to this I worked within corporate organisations in marketing, sales and administrative roles.
I enjoy a wide social and community involvement. I am President of the Christchurch Branch of my former high school, Timaru Girls. In 2011, I was Committee member as well as the MC and keynote speaker for our 90th Hostel Reunion and Chaired our 2021 Hostel Centennial Committee and weekend of celebrations. I also hold the position of Past-President of a Probus Club.
As a former member of two Toastmasters club, including an Advanced Club, I achieved success in competitions over the years as a competent public speaker, and enjoy the opportunity of speaking at special events.
I pride myself on my strong organisation, presentation, and facilitation skills, and my professionalism and commitment to the job. As a "just-do-it" person I like to be busy, including attending Aquafit classes and walking for fitness and pleasure - and coffee!
In my role as an Independent Celebrant, I am a Validated Member of Celebrants Aotearoa New Zealand (CANZ) and as such abide by their code of ethics and on-going professional development. I am an active member of the Canterbury Branch of CANZ and former Chairperson of the Branch Committee. I trained with The Celebrant School and am validated to perform Registry wedding ceremonies as well as 'traditional' or personalised ceremonies, designed uniquely for each couple.
